Many of ReliaQuest’s enterprise customers across industries use Splunk to strengthen their cyber defenses. Recently, our joint customers gained the ability to take the effectiveness of their solution to the next level with ReliaQuest’s GreyMatter, the first SaaS security platform that delivers visibility across SIEM, EDR and multi-cloud environments to speed detection and response, while maturing security investments to deliver security confidence — at .conf 2019 last month, that partnership between ReliaQuest and Splunk was on display in several ways.
Here are four highlights from the conference:
1. .conf19 SOC protects attendees from cyber threats
During .conf19, ReliaQuest and Splunk demonstrated just how powerful combining the two can be for enterprise security teams. Conference attendees had exclusive access to the Splunk .conf19 SOC, a joint effort by Splunk and ReliaQuest that provided attendees with a look into how ReliaQuest operates with Splunk to fortify its global security operations every day. This real-life SOC protected conference attendees throughout the week, reflecting Splunk’s SOC environment and leveraging live conference data. The .conf19 SOC served as an example of how ReliaQuest’s GreyMatter platform works with Splunk and across the cybersecurity stack to provide unified, actionable insights to enterprise security teams.
2. Crowds flood ReliaQuest booth for demos of GreyMatter technology platform
Attendees also learned how ReliaQuest and Splunk are improving enterprise threat detection and response capabilities by visiting the ReliaQuest booth. Seeing the company’s GreyMatter platform in action gave them the ability to truly understand how it helps security teams maximize Splunk and its capabilities. The ReliaQuest booth was also an environment for detailed discussion around all things InfoSec, with ReliaQuest technical experts on hand to answer questions and share advice with other cybersecurity pros.
3. “Couples Therapy” takes a transparent look at business relationships
At .conf, ReliaQuest COO Colin O’Connor and Splunk CISO Joel Fulton held a joint presentation on ways security teams can work better within their organizations and partnerships. In “Couples Therapy: Real-World Mistakes and Lessons Learned in Business Relationships,” Fulton and O’Connor shared their personal stories of when they have seen cyber security leaders succeed or fail in business relationships. The two executives also described ReliaQuest’s “security is a team sport” mindset, as well as ways organizations can maintain positive business relationships, as ReliaQuest has with Splunk.
4. Improving visibility is a high priority for cybersecurity teams
.conf attendees packed the room for ReliaQuest CTO Joe Partlow’s presentation “High-Impact Strategies to Close the Visibility Gap in Security.” Partlow explained ways CISOs can gain more visibility and control of their security models, a challenge frequently cited by media and industry analysts as a top pain point for many security teams. Partlow was also interviewed on theCUBE during the conference, explaining ReliaQuest’s partnership with Splunk, how the .conf19 SOC was created, and how ReliaQuest’s recent acquisition of Threatcare will elevate the features of the ReliaQuest GreyMatter platform.
